Believing in the holistic development of the child, sports form an integral part of school curriculum at an early age. On 21st & 22nd August, 2019, BVM (USN) hosted Punjab State U-14 (Boys) Chess & Judo tournaments ‘Tandrust Punjab 2019-20’, organized by Punjab Government on the occasion of 550th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev ji, in the Hedgewar auditorium. Sh. Ravinder Singh Ji (DSO) and Sh. P. C. Goyal Ji (Secretary, BVM Trust) were the Chief Guests of the event held in the benign presence of Sh. M. M Bamba Ji (President BVM Trust) and Principal Mrs. Bandana Sethi. 16 teams from various districts of Punjab enthusiastically participated in these tournaments. The event commenced with deep prajwalan and Saraswati Vandana followed by a zealous patriotic song "Jai Bharat Vande Mataram" sung by the music choir. Mr. Surendra Kumar ji (Punjab Judo Association Technical Secretary and International Referee), Mr. Parveen Thakur (Convener) Mr. Navjot Dharival (Co-convener), Mr. N.S. Thakur (Secretary Judo Association, Chandigarh), Mr. I.K. Kalia (Chess Coach) & Mrs. Navdeep Jindal (District Judo Coach) were the dignitaries of the event. The distinguished judges were Mr. Amit, Mr. Ravi, Mr. Gulshan, Mrs. Sajida Grewal, & Mr. Karamjit. Mr. Baljeet Singh Gill (H.O.D. Sports Dept.), Mr. Sanjeev Thakur, Mr. Sukhwinder Singh & Mrs. Deepika, co-ordinated the whole event successfully.
